Band Of The Week: Lucky Criminal

Slight Band History:

William Arthur Clark is a singer/songwriter under the name of Lucky Criminal. William started working on music for Lucky Criminal in the end of 2012 in what would eventually be the first album to be released under the name of "Keep It Positive". The first album was mostly made with the purpose of starting and proving that he could show people his music no matter what. He recorded songs every day at night after work and spent bus rides writing notes for songs that would be in "Keep It Positive". All this was while he was living in California. In 2013 he moved back to Michigan where he started to work on his second album "Strung Out" spending most of his time on the creation and promotion of it. Later came the creation of the third album "The Wayside". Lucky Criminal is currently writing new studio tracks for his next album.

Fun Facts about Lucky Criminal:
  1. Was in a band called MiNu Vyrus with influences of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson's AntiChrist Superstar.
  2. The cover for the album "Strung Out" is a water color painting by Williams Fiance, Ashley.
  3. The lyrics for the song "Vessel" were written in about 15 minutes when William slapped a spider that jumped on his leg while he was playing in his guitar what eventually would be the song, the lack of control he had on crushing the little spider that wasn't doing anything is what the song ended up being about.
  4. The music video for "Vessel" is him holding a flash light while staring at his camera in his MacBook using a program called Photo Booth with the effect "Frog".

Personal Opinion:

I heard Lucky Criminal because a friend of mine shared with me the song Vessel on spotify and he found out about him because of the related artist from another band we both listen too called "Roadgeek". I liked Vessel the second I heard it, really enjoyed it and I could not stop listening to it. I eventually got curious and wanted to know what the song meant because I really didn't know what that song was trying to say. I found his website where it said exactly what the song meant and why he wrote it, turns out the song was about a spider that he crushed relentlessly and he wrote how he didn't have control over his actions. That just made me laugh and appreciate the song even more, because of how simple the story behind the song was. I quickly got hooked on many of his songs and have heard most of them, I can honestly say that I can't wait to see what he has under his sleeves. I definitely recommend you give him a try, you just might be surprised with what you could find.
