Music In Video Games: Undertale

Image
I am fairly new to Undertale having passed it around April of this year but that doesn't mean in any way how much this game impacted me and how much I overall enjoyed the experience (mostly the pacifist route) but overall everything. I figured since the game recently got released for Nintendo Switch what better time to talk about this game and its wonderful music which by no one's surprise is by far my favorite aspect of this game. To think I almost passed the chance to play this game considering I still hold it as one of my favorite games that I have played this year. Thanks to a friend of mine who pushed me into playing it basically and actually buying it and not even play it until 2 to 3 months later but what eventually got me to play it was that this same friend brought his ps4 over one time and he had the Undertale Ruins Dynamic Theme which has a very melodic calm tune playing, this song ultimately made me want to play the game, because this song had something specia

Cover of the Week: Everybody Wants To Rule

Image
This is a very interesting cover because it has a story involved with it, the original song is from Tears from Fears released in 1985, now the cover is in the game Bioshock Infinite by Scott Bradlee that is set in 1912, the over is a rag time version of this song set to the era of 1912, now the game explains this because in this game one of the characters can summon tears into reality and they start popping out all around the fictional city of Columbia, one of the characters hears a tear from the 80's and starts hearing different songs from different eras later to copy them with the esthetics of 1912, I find the reason for the creation of this song fascinating as well as I love covers that completely change the genre of said song. Here is the song:  Here is the original: If you want to hear more Bioshock songs head over to my post of Music in Bioshock  where there is a couple of songs of each game related to the series.

Vans Warped Tour 2018

Image
I had the opportunity to go to the final show of Vans Warped Tour on West Palm Beach and it was a blast and a dream come true at the same time this time being also my very first time in one. I've been trying to go to one of this shows since I was a little kid but they would never go to Puerto Rico and it wasn't until I was an adult that I could travel to one of them by my own and that time was finally on August 5, 2018. For this case I didn't really care who was playing or when, I just knew I really wanted to finally go to one of this shows and man was it amazing. Thankfully there was a lot of bands that I did actually like(and has also been featured in this blog) and some that were pretty good surprises. That being said I'm going to put a mini description of what I felt and liked with each band that I saw in this Fest, of course I didn't see all of them that is pretty impossible but I did see a bunch, here they go in order in which I saw them: This Wild Life

Video: Contrast

Image
Here is the newest video I have worked on for a school project for this past semester. The video is called "Contrast" the challenge for this project was to make a one minute film without any sound, dialogue or narration and try to establish a theme just by presenting the images and editing, of course I've always enjoyed editing with music so I decided to do it very musically strong using the song " Les Deux Piano " by Yann Tiersen from the Amelie's movie soundtrack. That whole soundtrack for me is amazing but this song is by far one of my favorites and wanted to capture its magic with this mini one minute short. with all this being said here it is " Contrast ". https://vimeo.com/257979286 Due to the fact that the video is uploaded to Vimeo I can't post it here but i did share the link for you guys to see it! -Cheers
