Known as Jordan Cardy, his artist name being Rat Boy is an English musician born in 21 February of 1996. he studied at Chelmer Valley High School and later started studying art at Colchester Institute while in his spare time writing songs and releasing them in Sound Cloud under the name Rat Boy, he later on sent his first release on Sound Cloud "The Mixtape" to different record companies in which he performed vocals, keyboard and Bass letting him eventually signing with Parlophone Records in early 2015.

- After college Cardy was hired and subsequently fired from Wetherspoons, which provided inspiration for his first release on SoundCloud, The Mixtape.
- In April 2017, Cardy's song "Knock Knock" was sampled on Kendrick Lamar's song "Lust", taken from his fourth studio album, Damn. When he found out about the sample, he tweeted his appreciation for it.
- Cardy is Dyslexic.

Personal Opinion:
Long time since I have posted a Band of the Week Post, like many of you might know Puerto Rico where I live had a really bad Hurricane last year and made everything very complicated for a lot of us here, it has been a very hectic year with a lot of changes and struggles and my life kind of been none stop for a while like everyone has been here for the past year. Now the reason why I decided to get back with Rat Boy is because this was the band I most heard while in the mess of the Hurricane, I got obsessed with LAIDBACK when all I had was my Ipod, a chair in my roof and SCUM as my latest album before the Hurricane. This was all I listened to for 4 months due to the fact that around 4/5 months is when the lights started to come back around my area (specifying this because there is places that got the power back not long ago). This album and specifically LAIDBACK got me through some pretty tough times, it was the best part of my days. as how I found RAT BOY It was recommended through Spotify the song SIGN ON and at first I actually thought it was Jamie T or a secret project of him, after some investigation I found out about RAT BOY and soon got hooked with SCUM, so if you like this type of hip hop music or hell just good beats you will sure like RAT BOY, and thanks again for LAIDBACK hell of a song to unwind with.
