Band Of The Week: SWMRS

Slight Band History:

The band formed when Cole Becker and Joey Armstrong watched School of Rock together and wanted a band, later on Cole's brother Max Becker joined in, by this time the band was named "The Raining Souls" then changed to "The Clocks" then changed again to "Emily's Army". Emily's Army had a goal to raise money and create more awareness for Cystic Fibrosis in honor of Max's and Cole's cousin who suffered from this diseased. Around 2014 the band changed its name again to "Swimmers" and then around 2015 the band would start to write its name as "SWMRS"

Personal Opinion:

I heard SWMRS on pandora while listening to Fidlar and Drive North came out and it really caught my attention but I didn't follow them after that, but then in November 2016 I went with a couple friends to a Fidlar concert in Philly, and I didn't realize what band SWMRS was till they started to play Drive North and man, it was a rushed and great, after a great concert from all 3 bands I looked SWMRS up and is easy to say that I haven't stopped listening to their "Drive North" album and was surprise to notice that they are also Emily's Army a band that I have heard a couple times and enjoy plenty, in summary this band is really high and energy, they really get me all pumped up, so if you like this type of punk or punk in general give them a listen, they have a lot of good songs!
