Music in Video Games: Katana Zero

Katana Zero is an indie game published by Devolver Digital and developed by Askiisoft. This is a 2D action platformer game and I am completely hooked with this game. I got it on the switch about 2 weeks ago now and I have played it countless times, from passing the story to doing my best in the speed run mode. But what makes this game so addicting and fun? well firstly the aesthetics in this game are just great, it has this cyberpunk sci-fi vibe to it with many retro-wave aspects as well, it just makes you feel nostalgic for a dystopian future that does not exist. The story is very interesting, amazing visuals, slick and responsive controls but what really takes the cake is the perfect soundtrack that this game is accompanied with. I cannot stress enough how good the music in this game is, it ties together everything the game is creating a very memorable vibe to the game that I honestly can't think many games have pulled off with the exception of maybe Hotline Miami.

This game knows so well what it is and what it wants to do that just by watching one trailer for the game I instantly wanted it and knew how the feeling of the game was going to be. That trailer which I am going to put down here after these paragraphs not only do I think that it captures everything this game is, it also happens to use one of my favorite songs of the soundtrack making the trailer give you the exact nostalgic yet newish feeling this game produces, as trailers goes, it's fantastic.

The song used in the Trailer is "Blue Room(Kz Version). With all that being said I highly recommend this game, it is a bit short but everything feels and plays so well together that you will want to pass it countless times and it is also set to receive some DLC down the line so it is very worth it to check out.

Here is the Soundtrack:
