Top 25 songs

So I've been incredibly busy these past months and today I turned 25 years old, that is such a bizarre age for me, so I thought in honor of my birthday to put here my all time favorite top 25 songs. The only ground rule I have made for myself is no repeating artist, because then this list would be a bit to easy. I have never done this experiment but sure have thought about it. So here it goes in no specific order my all time favorite 25 songs.

Fall Back Down by Rancid

What can I say, this song has been there for me for many many years and I still don't get tired of it to this day. I heard it for the first time in Tony Hawk Underground 2(this will be a common theme throughout this) and fell in love with it. This is my first ever Rancid song that later on span a crazy obsession for their songs and other projects Tim Armstrong had and even though it has gotten tamer since 2014, this song still stands tall and will forever be in this list.

A Little Piece of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold
(age disclaimer)

This is another first hear for me, as in this was the first song I heard from Avenged Sevenfold that got me hooked with them for a pretty hefty time in my teenage years. Not much I can say about this one in particular, I really like the duo in this song, how long it is and melodic it feels, it is by far my favorite song of them and to this day none of their songs have been able to top it.

Hall of Mirrors by The Distillers

This song came from my Rancid obsession, I was listening both to Rancid and The Distillers religiously for the span of a year, difference with this one is that it is not the first song I heard from The Distillers, yet the first time I did it was an instant favorite. It makes me feel with so much energy when I hear it, I don't really feel the lyrics as much as other songs in this list but the energy of the song definitely puts it here especially when I scream out the words every time I hear it.

 Spokesman by Goldfinger

Another song from the Tony hawk's game sound track this one from Pro Skater 4, I have only these games to blame(in a good way) for my music taste. Spokesman are one of those songs that not only I enjoyed a heavy amount when I was young my parents actually got hooked on it too for quite a while. Hearing this song Live was amazing and they started with it so they got me all pumped up from get go.

San Francisco by The Mowgli's

This one was recommended by an old high school friend of mine, she had a crazy good taste in music and got me hooked on this band for a pretty big portion of 2015-2016, this is one of those songs that just make me feel incredibly happy.

Los Angeles by Frank Black

Yet another Tony Hawk Song, this one is from American Wasteland, I used to hear this song in repeat from my DS on the ported version of American Wasteland called American Skateland, hell this song was everywhere for me and this was when I was maybe 9 or 10? it was a really long time ago but it still comes up and it makes me happy as the first time I heard it.

This is the Last Time by The National

Oh The National how hard was it to pick one, but for sure this song takes the top, I bought a whole album just for this song and everything about how this song plays gets to me, it was an instant favorite. It was a hard choice nonetheless due to how much I like this band and have many favorites like "Exile Vilify", "Wake up your Saints", "Blooodbuzz Ohio" and more.

Add it Up by Violent Femmes

Looks like it's time to go back to Tony Hawk! Back to Tony Hawk Underground 2, this is one of those songs that I am proud to be able to sing word to word as silly as that sounds, it is extremely catchy and the great thing about this song that many people love it as well, nothing better that singing this song to the top of your lungs with multiple people.

Planeta Hola by Bohemia Suburbana

Probably the only Spanish song in this list, this is a perfect nonsensical song that manages to get melancholic at the end, it is an absolute treat and I have loved this song since very young because it was one of the songs my Father used to play a lot.

That's Life by Frank Sinatra

This song needs no introduction, the first time I heard it was in this movie called "License to Drive" and I liked it but I was to young to realize how much, then in you guessed it Tony Hawk Underground 2 they had it on the sound track and I haven't stopped listening to it since.

Hurt by Johnny Cash

This cover is a masterpiece, I love everything about it, everything it stands for, playing it in guitar, how it is use in media more recently like in the Trailer of Logan, I just love it. I don't have a clear memory of when I started loving this song but it was one of the first songs I learned on guitar back in 2010.

Sticks 'N' Stones by Jamie T

Another artist that was very hard to pick just one but I had to go to the song that started it all, this song sparked an obsession so intense for Jamie T that almost all my friends currently listen to him today. This song reminds me of good times back in 2016, a top 25 song without a doubt and to this day I still consider Jamie T my favorite artist.

Under Cover of Darkness by The Strokes

Not much to say about this song I just love it and it always makes me feel good but in an odd bittersweet way, it always reminds me of a mundane task I was doing a long time ago.

What I Got by Sublime

What can be said about this song that hasn't already been said, It is just a great and fun one. Always reminds me of the days I used to chill with my friends in a malls rooftop.

West Coast by Fidlar

This song starts and it doesn't allow you to skip it due to how catchy it instantly is, with some relatable quotes in the lyrics here and there, this song is one of the greats for sure.

Memories by Weezer

I heard this song thanks to Jackass 3, even though I love this song now I do still prefer the Jackass version, it just feels fuller or something, great song either way though.

Gold Snafu by Sticky Fingers

This song is probably going to be the most recent one in this list, I've only been listening to this song maybe for a year or so but it has grown into one my top favorites songs fairly quick, it sets me in a entire different mood.

Disorder by Joy Division

Heard this amazing song thanks to the amazing game of Skate 3, I can't even explain how much I love this song and Videogame, they both come in pairs for me and ever since I heard this song it is almost never skipped in any of my playlist. That being said here goes the obligatory comment after one talks about Skate 3. I want Skate 4(note: When I wrote this the new skate wasn't announced yet)

Pieces by Sum 41

Pieces was another hard song to pick, I love a lot of Sum 41 songs and a lot of them have special meanings for me, but none can compare to Pieces, this song helped me in a lot of scenarios when I was younger, they look pretty dumb now in comparison but still, back then this song meant everything and it has a special place in my heart.

If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will and DVP by PUP

This spot is kind of cheating because it's really 2 songs but I cannot hear DVP without hearing "If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will" first. They just work to perfectly together to separate them. This songs where the reason for me to buy this whole album and they are still by far my favorite songs from "PUP" though "Scorpion Hill" was very close to take it.

The Awakening of a Woman by The Cinematic Orchestra

This song is fantastic in every sense of the word. The first time I heard this song I was determined to make a short using it and eventually got to do it. It's a song that makes you concentrate so much and at the same time inspires you to work on stuff, it is an amazing track and definitely if you were to leave with any song from this list this should be up there with one of the best.

Luigi's Balad by Starbomb

Silly song here but fun in every sense, has a Lonely Island vibe but with video games bit risque song but ultimately very funny and energetic. This was the first song I heard from Starbomb and even though they have other really great tracks, this one keeps being the one I barely ever skip.
(can't put the video for some reason, so there is the link)

I Know You to Well To Like You Anymore by Reel Big Fish

Another really hard pick from a band were I have multiple favorites, I went with this one because just like Jamie T's pick this is the song that started my obsession with this band though this spot can easily go to Drunk Again, Take On Me, Everyone else is an Asshole and more.

The Brightest Bulb has Burned Out by Less Than Jake

This song turned to one of my favorites thanks to how Less Thank Jake ended one concert one time, they ended with this song in such a perfect way that they escalated this song through the roof, this one takes the cake from a lot of great songs from this band.

Here I am by The Explosion

Yet another song from the Tony Hawk Series, a lot of my taste came from those games so it's no surprise these picks keep coming out, this song just overall always makes me happy.

Honorable Mentions

Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day(Broadway version)
A Pillar of Salt by The Thermals
Amoeba By Adolescents
Pervert by Descendants
Hornos del Cal by La Vida Boheme
Nada Particular by Miguel Bose
Feeling This by Blink 182
Too Many Thousand & 16 by CREO
Babylon by The Interrupters
and many more honestly, to many songs..

This list was genuinely really hard to make, it took me almost 7 months to complete, due to the fact that I kept adding to it bit by bit, it just felt wrong to just throw in things like that, so with that said, my top 25 songs for the time being, lets see how things move on from here. This year has been extremely shit and considering I started writing this when things were pretty great lets see if things will start to look up again, but for now, the list is finally done.
