Band Of The Week: The Distillers



Slight Band History:
The Distillers members were: Brody Dalle" Vocals, Rhythmic guitar or lead guitar",  Tony Bevilacqua  "lead guiatar, backing vocals", Ryan Sinn "Bass, backing vocal", Andy Granelli "Drums, Percussion". The Distillers came together in late 1998 when Brody Dalle met Tony Bevilacqua and they both loved to play. They issued a same- titled album in the 2000. Little by little the band members left to different bands until it was just Brody Dalle and Tony Bevilacqua. At 2006 they officially announced that The Distillers is no more.

Fun Facts About The Band:

1. The Distillers is feature in two Tony Hawk Games, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 "Seneca Falls" Tony Hawk Underground 2 "Beat Your Heart Out".

2. Brody Dalle was once known as Brody Armstrong due to her marriage with Tim Armstrong from punk band Rancid's front man.

3. After the departure of The Distillers, Brody went to a new band called "Spinnerettes" 

4. Dalle has also played on tracks for the band Eagles of Death Metal under various monikers and appeared on the song "Weigh on My Mind" on the Transplants' debut album in 2002.

5. Dalle also made a cameo in New Found Glory's music video My Friends Over You with then-husband Tim Armstrong, as well as Travis Barker and Rob Aston.

6. The Distillers is compared a lot to the band "Hole".

Personal Opinion:

I really like this band a lot, there is way to many songs from them that I've heard constantly in repeat. This band like many others I heard them for the first time in Tony Hawk games ( seriously guys these games are bad ass) The first song i probably heard from them was "Seneca Fall" in THP4, It's a shame they're not together anymore because I would love to see how they would have been doing right now.
